The updated drive arm features a small “bump” on its profile that ensures the flush actuation limit switch disengages cleanly at the end of each flush cycle. Without this feature, the motor can continue cycling — repeatedly attempting to return the flush ball — rather than stopping cleanly. If your 4000 Series VacuFlush toilet’s motor runs on longer than expected after a flush, or the toilet seems to “hunt” or cycle without completing a clean stop, the pre-2015 drive arm design is almost certainly the cause. How to tell if your toilet needs this kit: Check the serial number on your toilet. Toilets with serial numbers beginning 501XXXXXX or later already have the updated drive arm installed.
