One sunny summer day while visiting North Haven, the island across the thorofare from my home island, I came upon an old rusted anchor at the local boatyard. Upon closer inspection there were three large barnacles that had apparently fallen off during it’s time sitting on the wharf. This barnacle ring was molded from one of those barnacles after several rounds of wax work, casting and molding. The shank of the ring was built from sections of the barnacle, keeping its intricate texture consistent throughout the entire ring. The interior of the band has been generously carved in the comfort fit style, making it very comfortable on the finger. This sterling statement ring is highlighted with a 4.5 carat London Blue Topaz that glimmers like the sea on a sunny summer day, set in an 18K gold bezel. The barnacle itself setting atop the finger is 1.2″ long by .5″ tall. Current finger size is 7.5.
